How to transfer/save game data

Saving your account

To save your account, you can go to the "Data Transfer Settings" from the Gear icon when you are in-game, then choose "Data Transfer with KONAMI ID". Register a new account if you don't have it yet and bind it to the account.

June 7th update

Recently, there were problems associated with making a KONAMI ID, which has now been fixed, but a new method to save your account is now added as well. You can now set up a data transfer to back up your account using Google Play Games. Simply log in to your Google Play account when you are in-game, and choose "Data Transfer Setup (Google Play Games)" in the Data Transfer Settings.

Setting up a data transfer

1. Tap a gear-shaped icon

2. Tap "Data Transfer Settings"

3. KONAMI ID or Google Play Games

You can link your game data to both a KONAMI ID, or Google Play Games. In case one of them isn't available, you can use the other to restore your data. You can link your game data to a different KONAMI ID, or Google Play Games if you accidentally used a different or wrong account, but it will replace the previous one. If you plan on transferring from using Google Play services to iTunes, make sure you use KONAMI ID instead.

3.5 KONAMI ID

If you are using KONAMI ID, login or generate first before linking your game data to it.

4. Done!

If you did everything correctly, your account is now saved so you don't have to worry about losing it if your phone is broken, a data error or if you uninstall the game. You will have to re-download all of the data files though.

Using your account on a different device

When you want to use your account on a different device, you will need to log in to your account. When you first launch the game, before you tap "INITIATE LINK!", tap the button below for "Data Transfer" and log into your account.

KONAMI ID

If you set up using a KONAMI ID, simply log in to your registered account that you linked your game data to. If you are using Google Play Services, make sure you are logged in to the right account.

Account Recovery

If you lost your account before you managed set up a data transfer, you can try recovering it from the "Contact Us" and "Submit Player Data Recovery Inquiry" from the gear icon in-game.

1. Tap a gear-shaped icon

2. Tap "Contact Us"

3. Read through the description & Tap the button

4. Submit inquiry

You will need to provide your information as accurately as possible for them to be able to identify that it is yours. Simply giving them your player ID is not enough, since anyone can look that up and is not a very reliable information. Try to remember stuff like deck names, latest card obtained of certain rarity or what device you used it on.

Next step is to wait patiently and check your email for a reply from their support team.

They are unacceptable!!! Konami tells me that all of us have to wait for 6-8 weeks from now on due to the many requests they have received!!

Guys im furious!! They tricked us, I also was informed that the recovery will take place 6 weeks later!! F**k Konami! Lets just stop playing this 🔥 game!

Hi I don't have any updates unfortunately haven't received any emails from Konami. It's been since Thursday at 1:05 PMish I will post when something actually happens. Sorry to everyone that is still in the process of waiting along with me. Let's keep each other informed on what happens so everyone is aware. Thanks :) tty in 2 weeks or whatever >:(

I must add though that I had a problem like this with DBZ Dokkan Battle as well. They have an ID system similar to Duel Links and they were able to recover my account in a matter of 3 days. I thought that was a Nightmare but at least Bandai Namco were kind enough to make sure that ppl know to link their account by putting it on the home screen of the game. Outrageous to say the least about it.

I'm so confused. First konami said it would take two weeks to fix, fine. But now I got an email saying they have to talk to the department head in charge to go through the next step? WHAT NEXT STEP? WTF KONAMI get it together. It's already been a week. Since my initial email to support.

Wow...It shouldn't even take a day. This is insanity. I'm even contacting them through the affiliated email that's connected to my duel links account. This is torture. Constantly checking my email and asking questions and getting no response at all. Failing to take responsibility for their mistakes is not only bold but fatal.

Most people that come on here are confused. Any normal company would handle this type of situation with ease. By the time I get my account back I won't even want to play the game anymore so 🔥 it. I'm seriously obsessing over this 🔥 since Thursday and I'm tired of it. They can't even reply to simple questions like "how will I know when my account is restored"?

I sent an inquiry to konami. Provided them with half my deck recipe, my characters and which levels they are, how much boosters i bought and how many times i played pvp. Convincing information but they still couldnt recognize that my lost account was mine. What the hell Konami!

They will hear from my attorney if they don't get my account back honestly. I'm not just going to accept "no" as an answer when I even sent them the receipts from the purchases I made. It's now sunday and I haven't received a message even saying "we're working on it." or something to make me feel better while I am cruelly forced to wait and see if I'm even getting my account back.

It's clear to me that they just don't give a 🔥 that it's their fault people are losing their accounts. The emails they send say they will only do a data transfer once. Like who the hell are you to tell your consumers that it's going to take an absurd amount of time or it won't happen at all. On top of that have the nerve to act like it's not their problem.

Unfortunately and as angry as it makes me we are just going to have to be patient. They are the professionals and I hope the 2 weeks is an overestimation. If they can confirm our identity and everything than we should be good.

If you read the comments to my last post I shared what they plan to do about recovering my account. Still don't understand why it will take 2 weeks or longer (smh) but so be it. Might take a while but at least there is hope. I'll keep people posted.

Hey :D Yeah I mean the way they make it seem is yes, we shouldn't touch the game until they finish restoration. They didn't give me any instruction really on what to do so hopefully we just sit back and they figure it out for us and one day we will be able to get back to playing. There is NO WAY I will start from the beginning either i was on stage 38 and climbing.

bad enough that NAS took down dueling network. now this 🔥. what a shame.

Hey guys, after filling out the recovery form on the 24 February. The latest email from Konami is that they will pass the information to the recovery team and will update me. I brought a new iPhone 7 for this game and done the data transfer setting on the new phone once I've installed the game. It just over writes your old data with your new ID. This is wrong, they should let you know this account is already linked to another user and if you want to transfer your old data please close down the game and select data transfer and input your email and password to transfer you old account over. Not over write with the new data, really ask yourself who would want to start the game all over again after spending so much time on it levelling up and chasing cards. After reading so many problems on recovering data they should clearly make the process easier for their customers. I've spend over £150 on the game. Still not sure if they can recover my account.
Hope this help you guys to understand my situation, remember your not the first and you won't be the last. Will post again on the out come.

I'm really regretting playing this game at all now. Especially because I spent money on it. If that much time passes by I'll probably move on to something else and not even care about it anymore. Going to miss out on all the events that are going on while the "investigation" is happening. It's really unbelievable.

OK so I sent inquiry to Konami yesterday at 1:05 pm. I haven't received anything but an auto-response emails from Konami. I took the initiative to call Konami directly considering the fact I have all the info including my duel i.d. lead me to believe that if I call it would take care of business faster. I have proof of purchase(s) I sent directly to them in the inquiry as well. Anyway, going on when I called they just gave me the email for Konami and said a different "team" handles the game Duel Links....Unbelievable they not only screwed us over by failing to make it clear that you MUST link your data to konami website. Now I have to wait til ???? to see if I'm even going to get it back. I'll keep updating, and once again I must end with this is 🔥!

If anyone plays Dragon Ball Z Dokkan battle I had a similar problem with that game but Bandai-Namco was able to recover my account. I hope that's the case with my Duel Links account. I will let people know what happens since I haven't seen one post about the after math or conclusion if they restored their account or not.

My brother accidentally deleted my app from my phone and I was not aware that you had to make a Konami account in order for your data to be accessible on your phone. I already sent a data recovery inquiry with my info, previous purchases, and etc from using the app with my "new account". I just want to know if anyone on here has gone through the process and tell me how it went and what you're supposed to do. Also I really need to know if I have to delete the app which has my new account in order for Konami to restore my old account?

if your name is that unique enough you can search your old name at the adding friend section and if you are able to see only your old account tap on it then you'll see account number that exact yours, send it to konami
