Evaluation

RatingB-

A monster that equips this card will rarely be beaten in a battle.

Pros

  • Helps destroy high attack monsters on your turn.
  • 300 attack increase trap can be used to destroy enemy during their turn.
  • Works for more than 1 turn since it's an equip card.

Cons

  • Can't be used to destroy high attack enemy monsters the turn it was drawn.
  • Bonus effect only works during your turn.

Tips, related cards, skills

Recommended to activate during enemy turn for the surprise 300 attack increase if it can destroy enemy monster. This will leave them open for a direct attack instead of going for the attack increase when attacking a monster.

Why an 8.0 rating? It probably is as good as, if not better than riryoku. It is basically an equip spell that also does half the other monster's damage as well. So in a way, it is like the best card ever

Yeah, the rating should be around 8.2 to 8.4 .. It deserve better rating
<< Anonymous

isnt it obviously?
u will still fail against mirrorwall, while riryoko is winning against mirrorwall -.-

+300 is nice, but depends on situation, u wont trap big monsters with it, while defending -.-

Riryoku and Metalmorph both have their strengths. If you're at a stage in the game where you've both only got low level monsters then Metalmorph is usually able to ambush attackers no problem and in all likelyhood put them on the defensive since you probably now have a 2000+ monster and just had another turn to maybe throw down a mirror wall or something too. It can easily give you advantage

- for a few turns at least. Maybe make them burn through their mirror walls and such while keeping yours handy since you're putting them on the defensive. Riryoku is great for a decisive victory as it can, of course, go through mirror wall. But it probably won't give you the sort of multi-turn edge that Metalmorph can give you.

I'm also upset with the rating. Can we move it up to 8.5. Tons of, if not most, KoD and KC decks have this

Why is it not rated 10/10. Incredible versatile card and is a staple in any beatdown deck
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Because beatdown decks are getting weaker and weaker as more cards and introduced that can be used to counter them.

It's amazing how much this card has downgraded since I posted it should be 10/10. Now id say 8.0 is very generous. The day of the kog beat down deck is almost gone. Only harpie beat down seems competitive to me now above gold level.

Well, it is been a while since Metalmorph was a meta card. I was thinking, why Duel Links don't make some fun skills based on this iconic card. For example:

Metalmorphosis:
"Reveal a Metalmorph from your hand. Change a Red-Eyes Black Dragon you control to Red-Eyes Metal Black Dragon (Joey) or a Zoa to Metal Zoa (for Bandit Keith) and imediately equip Metalmorph to them. This effect can be used once per turn and twice per duel."

or

Re-furbished
"Remove Metalmorph and a Red-Eyes Black Dragon or a Zoa from your Graveyard. Special summon a Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon or Metal Zoa on the field from outside your deck. This effect can only be used once per duel."

or

Metal-Raiders
"This skill can only be activated if you control a Red-Eyes Black Dragon or a Zoa. Set a Metalmorph on the field from outside your deck and place a Red Eyes Black Metal Dragon or Metal Zoa to the Bottom of your deck."

Your ideas sounds nice, I like them.

The first two are indeed nice ideas. The last one is pretty bad.

I wonder, can gearfried be equip with this card?
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
If you're talking about the one in the new box then no. it'll get destroyed if you try to equip it
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
I think you was right, no matter its spell or trap, if it is equip card, gearfried will destroy it.

Can't be used turn drawn?? R u serious? Stupidest con ever. Of course not, it's a trap. Treat it as such
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
It says so because it is best used in your turn, unlike other traps like Reinforcements which are best when getting attacked.

Temple of kings would change that

i haven't been able to activate metalmorph on my fusion monsters.... is this intentional? i can't activate reinforcements either. It doesn't say anything about that in the card description as far as i can see

I've been having problems when I activate it with multiple monsters on the field. They won't all come up as options to equip it too. Does anyone know why this is happening?
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
And they're not monsters that have restrictions for traps or equip cards
Anonymous
I used it on my monster but as i was attacking ojama fussion it didnt halve its attack , why is that?
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
It takes half the opponent's attack power and applies it to your monster. It doesn't lower their attack points, just multiplies yours by half of theirs. Also, Ojama King has 0 attack unless Ojama Country is up too, so that would mean you would gain half of 0 from it.... Which is 0.
Anonymous
I noticed it doesn't work quite well against monsters with augmented attacks. Like an monster equipped with a card that increases its attack.

I find Metalmorph is insane when coupled with fairy meteor crush and often wins duels for me.
