Overview

Solomon Muto first appeared in the original series of Yu-Gi-Oh! He owns a game shop and he's the grandfather of Yugi Muto. Solomon Muto is the one who gave the Millennium Necklace to Yugi Muto. He also made several appearances in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX.

Maddie was already recast as Sartorius in Duel Links so I don't see that being a problem. Honestly it would not surprise me if they're now saving Solomon for the supposed Filler World that's coming since one of his only duels in the anime was during the KCGP filler arc.

I will be curious to see what they give Grandpa in terms of an animation since no one in their right mind would summon Exodia's head. Blue Eyes maybe? Or could they do something crazy like have the animation only play if you win via Exodia's effect, in a similar manner to how Soulburner only gets Heatleo's animation if he Reincarnation Link Summons it.

Not a bad character.
I remember he dueled Yuugi while wearing a mask and expected not to be recognized xD while the rest of his outfit was exactly the same he used on a daily basis.

Slifer the Sky Dragon's name is completely irrelevant to the plot. It has no actual relation to the Egyptian God Osiris, it's just named after it. It's not like he's the only God in the Dub that isn't named after an Egyptian god anyway, since Obelisk isn't in either language.

It's irrelevant to the plot, but extremely relevant to the naming theme of the group as a whole.

They're called EGYPTIAN Gods. The "Egyptian" part is the more important part here. The entire thing about Atem is he is an EGYPTIAN Pharaoh.
