I thought I could activate this by springing a trap jammer card on a trap- which, seems to negate the effect of the trap card?

Not sure why I couldn't summon it?

...Obviously not. Forbidden Chalice pretty clearly doesn't negate activations.

But it can be chained to the activation of a monster's effect, which would negate its activation...

No, it negates its effect. I don't know why you think when the card's activated makes any difference. Memory Loss can ONLY be directly chained to the activation of a monster effect and still doesn't negate activations.

Why does using the "Divine Wrath" not trigger this effect? It's negating the effect of an effect monster
