If you want a similar effect that you can be activated immediately without needing to set it for a turn, you can use Fire Formation - Gyokkou.
The advantage of using this card is you can activate it anytime except the turn it was set, making it much more annoying.

I was wondering too actually how does this context works? Hahaha

Does the word 'cards' means/ includes monster cards, spell cards/ trap cards or only either one and its effects?

If I'm not wrong, it was most probably to be the latter hence its description.

It means all of them. Both players cannot activate spell/trap cards and monster/spell/trap effects, in response to this card's activation.

it can't be negated by silent swordsman (which is in the same box).

It's too late for Silent Swordsman, SSA and Onslaught can easily get rid it.

Thats only if they activate it immediately, you cant activate a trap/spell in response to fire formation. So this trap is better for going first, the spell is better for going second

for everyone who ask, the purpose of this card is
1. to substitute gyokkou in your silent swordsman deck (if you build one)
2. reducing chance of your opponent activate set card(s) by shutting down set spell/trap immediately after your opponent set it. gyokkou is a normal spell, there is a risk you are too late to lock it (either when you forgot to activate gyokkou before doing any other actions or when there are any effect that activated at standby phase).

this card has its own advantages. but still, it doesn't worth UR. should be SR at the best.

People who think this locks a card permanently are not getting it. IT doesn't. It only locks the card in question as long as its on the field. Cards can't be activated stops someone from trying to use the card you're trying to lock down in response to it.

Seriously tho, why this card has to be UR? imo it's equal to Gyokkou and should be SR instead. Or if you konami decide to make it UR, put in minibox instead

Why not bring both? Triple Gyokkou + Triple Replica = bigger chance to draw into something that can disable your opponent's Set card

I think it means the set card being locked, let’s say econ or amazon onslaught, can’t hurry and be used (flipped) right away just to prevent itself from being locked. This card ensures locking until it itself is destroyed

The card is still locked even if it leaves the field and you can't chain it with anything. So I think it deserves to be a UR

This card is just so freaking ridiculous its like floodgate for spell/trap and you can't do anything to response to it unless you have parallel twister or double cyclone that one card is clog your backrow for the entire duel. I am definitely ginna grab some of this card so good.
