Anguish Pattern has a good DEF stat when summoned as a monster. Combined with its inherent protection effect this makes it quite an annoying monster to get rid of with the right setup. It also provides good field control when running a Deck with a ton of Trap monsters, so it's not all about defense.

Tiki Soul effectively recycles Trap monsters by putting them in the Spell/Trap zone instead of the Graveyard when destroyed. But realistically, Tiki Soul would protect your other Trap monsters by being the first monster the opponent would most likely target.

Basically a defensive wall, Quantum Cat has relatively high DEF compared to other Trap monsters.
