RatingB+

Pros

  • Great stats.
  • Wipes your opponent’s board upon summoning.
  • Good protection.

Cons

  • Very costly to summon.

Tips

Summoning

Future Fusion uses materials from your deck, making the cost much lighter. Additionally it can be used to pitch Spellcasters to your graveyard. Magicalized Fusion Lets you use Spellcasters in your graveyard as material for summoning Quintet Magician.

Chocolate Magician Girl

Good at supporting Spellcaster decks because of her draw effect and generic Magician Girl effect. The draw effect also loads your graveyard with Spellcaster monsters to use for Magicalized Fusion.

Gravekeeper

Gravekeepers are quite good at loading the graveyard with Gravekeeper’s Spy, Gravekeeper’s Nobleman, and Gravekeeper’s Recruiter. They are an archetype of all Spellcaster monsters so both Future Fusion and Magicalized Fusion can be good. However Necrovalley can interfere with activating Magicalized Fusion.

OK, I activate Treacherous Trap Hole to destroyt this!
Nope
OK, I summon Lava Golem to your side of the field
Nope!

I think the counter trap "The huge revolution is over" can counter Quintet without any issue.

It will also counter the new Gladiator Beast Gyzarus from the new structure deck and Black rose dragon.

More banishment please.

I'm not sure The Huge Revolution is Over will counter cards like Quintet or Black Rose Dragon because it says "Effect Monster's effect is activated that destroys 2 or more cards on the field"

I think you can activate it only after 2 or more cards are destroyed and not before.
If this is the case then this trap card would have already been destroyed as well.

Anyone tested this trap card ?

From what I read, The Huge Revolution is Over can be used against Shiranui Sunsaga and Shiranui Squiresaga when they try to destroy 2 or more monsters.

Nice !
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Sorry, I meant 2 or more cards, like when Suiresaga banishes a synchro zombie or when sunsaga shuffles at least 2 cards.
Anonymous
Dark Necrofear is not a generic card that any deck can use, but maybe it can take care of Quintet.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
It only negates the wiping effect, so they're not destroyed.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
What if instead you chain a trap card that banishes the grave ?
When you see magicalize fusion selects the fusion materials you can banish those exact materials before they get used.
This way the fusion will miss target the selected materials.
Even if they have 20 monsters to use, miss targetting will stop the fusion summon.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
If you use a banishing effect after they use Magicalized Fusion, Magicalized Fusion doesn't go off. The main problem, however, is banishing cards overall aren't that good.

If you guys want to counter Quintet with World Armor then you can use Fires of Doomsday.

Actually, 3*Fires of Doomsday + 2-3*World Armor is nasty. You can keep Sending back your opponent's monsters to the extra deck.

How do you counter World Armor ?

How do you beat a deck that buys time with Magician girls and by special summoning Gravekeepers from the deck when you use a beatdown deck like blue eyes ?
I can only think of Samurai destroyer, but it is too hard to summon in a blue eyes deck.
I personally find it hard to do something before they get Quintet on the field
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Well, even Samurai destroyer gets countered with a simple Canadia, enemy controller or Super Rush Headlong (if used correctly).
If you have absolutely no effect to destroy/banish the enemy monster your beatdown deck will only help your opponent fill the graveyard for Quintet.
If Quintet is coming anyway, your best option will be World Legacy - World Armor.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
I see, the only way for a Blue eyes deck to deal with a Quintet that will be coming anyway is by using World Legacy - World Armor.
So how do I get that World Armor monster on the field
Anonymous
Void trap hole can destroy it, trust me
<< Anonymous
FC_T Reply
Well, Quintet cannot be destroyed by effect.

I'm not sure if "Void trap hole" negates only the "Raigeki + Harpie's feather duster" effect or also the cannot be destroyed effect though.

Anyone else tested it ?
<< Anonymous
OP Reply
i say that because i tested before. yes Void Trap Hole negate all effect include cannot be destroyed by card effect.

FC_T Reply
Cool.
Now lets save gems for 1 month to go through the box 2 times for 2 copies of Void Trap Hole XD
This will be super expensive

Or once you notice 5 monsters in your opponent's graveyard set a Dotedotengu on the field.

It can return a card on the field when it's sent to the grave, and it's a Normal rarity card

How do you beat this 🔥?

How do you beat it?
Press the surrender button.

And just how is that beating it when you lose the duel if you surrender? Dumb advice.

Floodgate or canadia

Are you asking how you stop the free Raigeki + Harpie's feather duster ? Or how to stop the 4500 damage ?
Anonymous
I was wondering, does "champion's vigilance" stops Quintet magician from being fusion summoned ?
It says "Negate the summon"
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
However, you can negate a spell/trap that has a fusion summoning effect. Just wanted to add that
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Ah, ok.

The text on champion's vigilance:
"Negate the Summon or activation, and if you do, destroy that card"

is kind of misleading then.

So, Obelisk's effect:
"This card's Normal Summon cannot be negated"

is never really needed ? Good to know
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
It's needed because otherwise Obelisk's summon can be negated by Champion's Vigilance.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Ahh, I see.
So Obelisk's summon can be negated because the card summon itself, whereas Quintet is summoned by another card. So champion vigilance cannot select Quintet as a target of it's negation.

So complicated, and to think some people call Yu-Gi-Oh a child's game

this is why we need Massive Morph unlimited. It's broken card and good thing doesn't inflict piercing otherwise i will be so pissed off
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Yeah, Massivemorph isn't even the main issue in Stall Burn decks.

Konami should just hit the real problems instead of scapegoating the hit to Massivemorph.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Agree, it wasn't Massivemorph that's the issue, it was Lava Golem and the stall monsters.

UNTOUCHABLE
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Not entirely untouchable.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
I suppose the best solution if you know it is coming is to not set too many cards on the field except quick play/traps that can decrease Quintet's attack upon summon to prevent the OTK.

Once you get past the OTK phase you can fight back with the cards left in your hands.

KAZUKI TAKAE
Also you can flood gate it and summon amazon swordswoman..
<< Anonymous

Konami thought that giving Quintet Magician the effect "on fusion summon play a free 'Raigeki' and 'Harpie's feather duster' from out of your deck" was balanced.

It's easy to use this effect two times with polymerization on the 4th/5th turn, followed by magicalized fusion if you are still alive.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
I somehow survived this and won because the free "Raigeki" + "Harpie Feather" activated only during the first fusion summon.
The guy banished the wrong monsters maybe.
<< Anonymous(KAZUKI TAKAE)

Flood gate plus Amazon swords woman would be perfect with a Gravity lash to make her attack zero.

I would call this reverse 🔥 XD

Hi guys, I was wondering, is there any common and generic counters to protect from Quintet magician's wiping effect ? Anything that can help you survive the first turn it is summoned ?

By "common" I mean easy to obtain cards; and by "generic" I mean cards which can be useful in any decks, not specialised ones.

I already know that World Legacy clash helps for example, but it's limited to 2. (For some reason 90% of the times when I play against Quitet Magician my 2 World legacies end up on the bottom of the deck, even with 4 cards remaining in the deck)
<< Anonymous(FC_T)
Anonymous Reply
Also might be helpful to use something that can combine with the parshath engine if you can make do with the cheaper counter traps since you are looking for less UR SR solutiond here.
<< Anonymous
FC_T Reply
I guesd ultimate providence R card and pray you have a monster in your hand when it happens to activate it.

That card looks good, the cost indeed makes this tricky.
Am I wrong or is there another UR counter trap with the exact same effect and cost as ultimate providence ?
<< Anonymous(FC_T)
Anonymous Reply
Divine wrath I think you mean. It works the same only for monsters when they use their effects and you can discard any card you want for the cost. What is great is that these work on monsters off the field to stop kiteroid or sphere kuriboh from working.
<< Anonymous
FC_T Reply
I see, but when you read both card texts it's hard to notice a difference when negating a monster effect.

I wouldn't have guessed that.
