Quintet Magician

I was wondering, does "champion's vigilance" stops Quintet magician from being fusion summoned ? It says "Negate the summon"

There are no cards that can negate a Fusion Summon. All Fusion Summons happen during the resolution of an activated effect. You can't activate an effect during the resolution of another, and once the effect resolves, the Summon was already successful and can't be negated.

However, you can negate a spell/trap that has a fusion summoning effect. Just wanted to add that

Ah, ok.

The text on champion's vigilance:
"Negate the Summon or activation, and if you do, destroy that card"

is kind of misleading then.

So, Obelisk's effect:
"This card's Normal Summon cannot be negated"

is never really needed ? Good to know

It's needed because otherwise Obelisk's summon can be negated by Champion's Vigilance.

Ahh, I see.
So Obelisk's summon can be negated because the card summon itself, whereas Quintet is summoned by another card. So champion vigilance cannot select Quintet as a target of it's negation.

So complicated, and to think some people call Yu-Gi-Oh a child's game

Besides Yugioh, I like One Piece. Kurohige is my role model. 659-440-527
Lvl 45 deck name is A Frog's Journey
Can easily be special summoned by mother grizzly.
This card will always deck out superheavy samurai since they don't use spell or traps.
