The Unhappy Girl

Very similar to The Unhappy Girl in everything including type, stats, effect, etc. But The Unhappy Girl’s effect takes effect immediately upon being attacked as opposed to Maiden in Love which only spreads counters needing other cards to actually do anything.

Support

Defense Maiden will direct your opponent's attacks to Maiden in Love so that you can spread Maiden Counters. Cupids Kiss will then let you take control of those monsters with Maiden Counters.

don't know what do you expect to do with Spirit Barrier, cupid's kiss' effect only activates if you take battle damage. If you intend to use this card to stall only, unhappy girl is a better choice because locks the opponent's monsters.

More like they forgot Unhappy Maiden is already in the game.

Is the storyline of maiden in love linked with unhappy girl?
they have similar effects of not being able to be destroyed by battle when in attack position.Plus they have the same attack and defence points.
Maybe unhappy girl is what happens to maiden in love after she doesn't find her love?
(hair colour and clothes can be changed).

similar to unhappy girl (cannot be destroyed by battle, and same attack/defence points) except different secondary effect. 1) unhappy girl locks the battle position of any enemy that attacks it (maiden in love doesn't) 2) maiden in love puts counters on opponent that attacks it (unhappy girl doesn't).

the real anime effec

This face-up Attack Position card cannot be destroyed by battle. If this card "battles" an opponent's monster, place 1 Maiden Counter on that monster at the end of the Damage Step.

Nope has to be attacked. 🔥ty effect but to stop her from being "broken" and stealing everything. still you can make a fun deck with it and a bunch of healing cards

If they have Cupid Kiss it takes control of the monster with it.

it doesnt do anything on its own. BUT, the spell card combo will take the monster with counters to your side of field after battle. Think of it like Alien Brainwash or slower e-con.

So I don't see the point of this archetype aside from the fact of taking huge damage only to take control of 1 enemy monster. Is this worth something in a 4000LP format (considering the fact that you can't even use things like Spirit Barrier which prevents damage) or is it only another one of that useless archetypes which will be lost in the records?

Useless, most likely.

Konami really should have printed and expanded on her "Mystic" cards instead, before putting her into DL.

Too bad Konami hasn't expanded on her Mystic deck yet in real life.

Would have been awesome to see her with that deck instead.

But oh well, even just getting Blair is already good news. GX world badly needs another female character.

Blair was kinda the only other GX girl of note, 'sides Camula, Tania, and Sartor's sister. 5Ds is holdin' back on Sherry & Misty who could've easily made it in.

Less holding back and more like they don't want to put them in for whatever reason.

Nearly all of their cards are in DL already, even Sherry's anime-only cards already made it in, suggesting that Konami does not have any intention to put her in.

Why, though, I guess we'll never know.
