Tech that Skull Meister dudes. He puts in good work at 2. Needle bug nest and Canadia have good synergy.

I run dark world archfiends, very good high level plat strategy. Struggles to get above that though. Waiting for Archfiend Heiress to be released to make the pure deck become consistent.

does anyone have solid advice how to deal with cosmic cyclone banishing my COTA, very often i just start with barely 1 in my hand

well thats tough, ideally you want your GY to be set up so you can use CotA immediatly.
But if your going second and he set CC in the first turn than that wont work.
Use enough other traps beside it, so he hits you AR or NBN instead by chance, i guess.
And run 3 CotA just for the sake of drawing into a second one

Also a good player will probably attack your backrow as soon as they realize you are playing archfiend. So, if you can afford to, don't put cota on the field right away. Give them a less important card to banish.

If i run Needlebug Nest version I shouldnt run Escape from Dark dimension right?

Needlebug version uses only traps to revive from GY, not the banish>revive mechanic.
The consistency comes from sending your high level Archfiends (preferrable Emperor+Empress) to the graveyard ASAP.
If not for Fur Hire (Wiz), this deck would be recking meta even now (it's particularly good against Heroes and Amazoness).
I reached lvl 20 in the recent KC Cup with Lyla/Needle Archfiends alone.

I struggle with Escape from the Dark Dimension. It's a very fun card, but monsters summoned by Escape get re-banished when they are destroyed, so graveyard effects don't work. Empress for instance, when summoned by Escape, gets rebanished when destroyed and you don't get to special summon another monster. :(

Also, if escape is destroyed, your monster is destroyed. :(

It's a bit situational too.

If you fo run Escape, Yubel's Allure of Darkness skill has good synergy. You can draw an extra card, banish one of your emperors and then use Escape to summon it.

Just asking but why do most people run Needlebug over That Grass in Archfiend decks?

Because Archfiend traps only work on high level Archfiend monsters, and only 2 monsters meet that requirement and are also good cards - Emperor and Empress.
Running 25-30 cards in your deck would make it even less consistent and you would need to run crappy Archfiend monsters, whereas running 2 Lylas and 2-3 Needlebugs gives you a high chance to draw at least one of those in your opening hand.

That Grass isn't terrible with archfiend. It's much faster than Needlebug Nest and harder to counter. You can use COtA and Archfiends Roar for traps. The latter works well with Empress and Cavalry because their graveyard effects allow you to special summon another archfiend.

For That Grass, you can use Arkana's Spell Specialist skill to help get That Grass into starting hands.

With Spell Specialist you need 5 magic cards of different names. So I would recommend:

3x Grass
1x Enemy Controller
1x Archfiends Palabrynth
1x Veil of Darkness
1x Fires of Doomsday

Grass and Veil are both useful for filling your graveyard, though Veil's downfall is that it is a bit slow.

And what will that do, exactly?
CotA can only special level 5 or higher FIEND monster from the graveyard.
Roar can only special an Archfiend monster from the graveyard.
Cavarly can only special an Archfiend monster when destroyed by a card effect.
Empress can only special level 6 or higher Fiend monster from the graveyard.
Emperor can only destroy by banishing Archfiend cards from your hand or gy.
