Monster Zone Lock

Ojama Knight

You can possibly lock your opponent's monster zone if he/she has no tribute monsters. Use Floodgate Trap Hole when your opponent Summons a Monster. Then disable the 2 remaining zones by using Ojama Knight's effect. You can then wait to get the cards that you needed or burn your opponent.

The text "monster(s)" on Floodgate Trap Hole means that it can affect multiple cards. See these screenshots below for example.

The opponent used The Flute of Summoning Dragon to Special Summon 2 Blue-Eyes White Dragon on the field. Then the Floodgate Trap Hole prompt pops up.

Floodgate Trap Hole is Activated.

Both of the Blue-Eyes White Dragon has been switched to face-down defense position.

These pretty much form the backbone of all my decks. I have found that regardless of the meta, which changes so quickly due to the new releases, I am in with a fighting chance.

Its sure unhealthy for the game in 3 card slot monster format, canadia is healthier than floodgate cause its doesn't clog and the game became stall

This card is an unhealthy card, yes.

But this card is also one of the few cure against even more unhealthy monsters in the game.

Tbh this card is too OP for dl, its has potential to play stall by clogging all monster zone, alongside with canadia basically you have 6 card that can clog thier monster zone

IF you main a red-eyes deck with slash and A/D changer, or a neos fusion deck with A/D changer, you could banish it and flip your slash back up.

Personally sick and tired of this card being used in random decks to win via deck out. 2 floodgates = win through stall regardless of your deck provided you have more cards in your deck than your opponents (which is usually case for the player as they are behind and have no proper way of winning). BS, same reason WoD shouldn't be in this game...

What will happen if you chain Mask Change to Floodgate? Will my Anki be flipped facedown? Or the monster that I summoned first?

Yeah because the targeted monster was the first one. Since it's chained the trap loses it's target

I've been slacking 4 a while as well.
But I managed to get to copies of it and use a widespread ruin to substitute the 3rd one.

Had no clue this card couldn't be activated during the battle phase. Lost two duels because no where does it say on the card that it can't be activated during the battle phase. Couldn't flood a dreadmaster in lvl 30 aster duel, actually annoying.

it be activated during the battle phase but only in attack declaration and battle steps and not the damage step/damage calculation, every other normal trap follow the same rule except ATK/Def changing cards or cards that specify the time of activation, like "at the start, before or after the damage step/calculation", this also goes for quick play spells and continues traps but not counter traps.

I believe you just missed the timing of activation as the card says "When" so if the monster you want to floodgate was summoned in a chain with its summoning being chain link 2 or higher you will miss the timing to activate floodgate.

Canadia is generally more useful as you can activate it during the battle phase,and his second effect is pretty neat for Synchro or Tribute fodder.

Floodgate works better in Stall/Burn decks and against decks that special summon more than one monsters (Like what was shown in the example gallery since it can shut down more than one monsters).

I'd go with Canadia. It's more versatile as it isn't only limited to special summoning or regular summoning. You could use it in the battle phase too.
