Mid-September will bring us a new unlockable character unavailable to Duel Links as of now. Based on the given quote we can assume that the new unlockable duelist will be Yubel whose personality mainly revolves around her love for Jaden as its owner. Another evidence is the leaked Mat and Sleeve of Yubel - The Ultimate Nightmare.

Massive Update - 5D's World available on 25 Sept 2018

A New Development in Yugioh Duel links. This could likely be the addition of 5D's, the third series of YuGiOh into Duel Links like how GX was added late last year. With the addition of 5D's World comes the addition new characters, events, cards, and the Synchro summoning mechanic.

My Tea/Anzu is lv. 30. But that is just levelling her up to get the gems. Jesse and Ishizu are better fairy users thanks to their skill (Fairy's Smile). Tea has some good skills. Holy Guard is good for Amazoness, but I prefer to Aster for that deck. (I don't care that he doesn't have good regular skills anymore with Balance being messed up).

I wouldn't be surprised if Baharley and Leyna uninstalled duel links by now. As it is, I know people who don't even bother to log in anymore because there is no Marik Ishtar. Konami is stupid about this and they have lost players now. I won't make a big deal out of Atticus, but it would be nice to have him. Zane is coming soon and I always have Aster, so I am pretty happy. Sad about Marik, though.

Hopefully Zane gets to be playable then hopefully by mid August 2018 Duel World 5D's could be added with starting characters with the option of Yusei Fudo or Jack Atlas just like you had the option to pick Atem or Seto and progress to a later stage to unlock the other starter Aki unlocked at Stage 3 Crow unlocked at Stage 5 Ushio unlocked by Synchro Summoning 99 times Dark Signer Kiryu unlocked at Stage 12 and Dark Signer Carly unlocked at Stage 14 then sometime in October 2018 we can have Duelist Chronicles Dark Signers featuring the Godwin/Goodwin Bros Rutger/Roman and Rex as seperate unlockable playable characters

Rua and Ruka would be the Stage 5 ones. Perhaps even Stage 3 with Aki being the Stage 5 one, if they are following the anime (Rua and Ruka actually got introduced first before Aki).

Crow....considering Blackwings' popularity, I can see them implementing him early, but I'm not sure they will implement him via stage level up. Most likely, he will be via event, to hype him up.
