Huge buff to Dark Gaia and Resonator decks, giving them easy ways to out monsters. Staple in general due to how it outs difficult to remove monsters - does your deck struggle with Lunalights? Santa Claws. Can't out Bloom Diva? Santa Claws. Slash Harpie giving you trouble? Santa Claws.

People are 🔥ting on the newest box but with 3 full playable f2p archetypes and this card as a staple, it's the best Arc V box yet by far.

winning that same turn? Melodious doesn't use backrow

I also hope your opponent doesn't have literally any spell or trap that can use santa claws as advantage like ballista, treacherous, econ, needle ceiling you would just go -2 for a card that was yours and that is dead if you went first

Melodious don't use backrow? tell that to all the melodious decks topping tournaments with triple skill prisoner, breakthrough skill, tth etc. Your argument against Santa Claws is a bunch of situational power crept cards that see no play in good decks.

Also the entire point of a kaiju is that you deal with it before your opponent gets to use it, so your entire argument is invalid.

Although Demon's Resonance can searh this card, Resonator deck won't run more than one copy of it. It is a dead card in starting hand if you are going first.

Only stall deck would run 3 Santa Claws. Many decks would become significantly weaker if they run slow card.

Dead card on your opponent's turn too. There is reason why certain handtrap are more popular than monster removal.

I said every NOT quick play, ofc i know about quck plays. Ofc Santa claws is better if you go second, but honeslty going first in this game is always worse.

Only card i want from next minibox, but i don't want to dig through it. Maybe next time, i think its smarter to wait for the next main box. Just sayin next box is New year box, maybe we will have some good 🔥, or maybe not still i think is better to wait.

While it might be not that different in most monster, remember that card such as santa claws could bypass the un-targetable, nor your Opponent able to react into it before it was in the field.

eh, IMO, Chalice and Book of Moon cannot really be compared to what basically is a Lava Golem (except tributing only 1 monster instead of 2).

They had a difference on how effective they are against a set of different field. This is not about "which one is better" lol.

If your main aim is removing something like cyber slash, this one surely better option since it doesn't stop you to normal summon.

This is already better than Volcanic Queen solely because this card is not locked inside a Selection Box.

I think its not worth to put a card to the deck just because you want to change back the control. This card is a Remove 1 big threat from the opponent side but also potentionally gives + 1 draw to them, but you have easier time to deal with it, and maybe 🔥 it so you can deny the drawback.

^Just remove santa claws on the very same turn to remove the draw effect. It need to be face up on the field to resolve the effect.

This card could be a nice tech for Yosenju. Doesn't eat your normal summon and can be used multiple times if you return it to your hand by using Kama 1
