Select 1 face-up monster your opponent controls. If you Synchro Summon this turn, you can use the selected monster as a Synchro Material Monster. You cannot conduct your Battle Phase during the turn you activate this card.

Pros

Non-destruction removal.
Using a powerful monster your opponent controls helps you summon even more powerful mosnters.

Cons

Skips your battle phase.
Can be difficult to get rid of opponent’s monster whose level is too high for any of your Synchro plays.

Tips

You can use multiple copies of Synchro Material so that you can get rid of just as many monsters your opponent controls while only losing one battle phase.

Junk Destroyer

Use Synchro Material so that you can use one of your opponent’s monster for Junk Destroyer’s summoning. This lets you remove a monster from your opponent’s field, and also makes the max number of non-Tuner monsters you can use to summon Junk Warrior 3 for more destruction.

Situational card. This is like soul exchange but needs condition that your opponent needs a certain level to use. And it’s not even a Spell.

You use it in decks that can play synchros from a variety of different levels - difficult with a 5 card extra deck, but bear in mind that most decks use 4 star monsters, so play it around that.

Damn this comment must be so old taking about 5 card extra deck, can't believe this site is so inconsistent with having dates on comments. You would think that'd be important in a forum talking about cards that consistely change value

Doesn't work. Urgent tuning needs monsters you control as synchro materials.

Confirmed. It DOES work. Synchro Material will treat your opponent's monsters as if you control them

You do realise you can't activate this card during the battle phase? Even if you did this during the end phase, so long you conducted the battle phase you can't activate this card to synchro summon.

Not at all.

I'm supposed to Set this, wait for my next turn, Summon a Tuner and then target a monster my opponent controls to Synchro Summon with. Afterall of this I still have to skip my Battle Phase? Really? Also you will have to run a Level 1 Tuner if you want to use a Blue-Eyes or a Masked HERO Anki since the highest Level generic Synchro we have is a Level 9 (Giganticastle).
