During your Battle Phase, if your "Superheavy Samurai" monster destroyed an opponent's monster by battle this Battle Phase, you can (Quick Effect): Immediately after this effect resolves, Synchro Summon 1 Synchro Monster, using materials you control, including this card. If you have no Spells/Traps in your GY: You can target 1 "Superheavy Samurai" Synchro Monster you control; reduce its Level by 1, and if you do, Special Summon this card from your GY, also you cannot Special Summon monsters for the rest of this turn, except "Superheavy Samurai" monsters. You can only use each effect of "Superheavy Samurai Fist" once per turn.

I've used this card in battle after a normal summon and destroyed a (face-down) monster but the card's effect did not activate. why?

Are you sure you have the right Synchro in your extra deck? As in, the right total Level, no restriction on materials......

AS far as i know. It says I can use 1 Tuner + 1 non-tuner which i take to mean a normal monster. In this particular case it says as a quick effect the Fist monster may act as the tuner tribute.

I've used the effect of coming back from the graveyard and synchro-summoning in phases other than Battle Phase. I'm positive.

Could anybody please explain how exactly this effect works? That way I'd be able to plan ahead and use it deliberately.

Its revival effect is usable outside the Battle Phase, it's a separate effect.

The only bad thing about this card is that you need to normal summon it. Don't agree? Try out the deck.
