On Yugipedia this card only says "shuffle this card into the Deck" for its quick effect. So I ask, does that mean that it can be shuffled from the graveyard into the deck for negation or does it have to be from the field?

Has to be from the field.

Unless a card specifically mentions the graveyard, it will most likely have to be on the field to use it's effect.

You probably see it wrong, the only print of this card, which is also the one Yugipedia and Gamea use for their article of the card, specifies "shuffle this card FROM THE FIELD into the Deck".

It also states "from the field" in Duel Links.

This card is so underrated. Personally, this is one of blue eyes counter for META.

some tips about for this card :
-Attack first with this card. No matter what card they throw to you, you can always return him into the deck, and avoid the effect.
- When facing red eyes and you had a change to summon this card, just do it and target slash dragon with this card eff. He will negate it most of time, but then again, he will lose one of his equip and you had a 3000 beater on the field. You will most likely destroy slash dragon without triggering his warrior - revival effect

-So far, the only way to destroy yubel with blue eyes CARD is through solid dragon eff.

-Sphere kuriboh during your last attack? Just use solid dragon to attack with blue eyes. He just trade his sphere kuriboh for 3000 attack beater.

Blue eyes solid dragon need more love, seriously.

It is, the new White Stone monster can SS Solid Dragon right away from the Deck, you don't even need to draw Solid Dragon.

Bingo machine is able to search this card, even with only 33% changes ( if you only put one copy ). Then again, white stone can ss this card from the deck directly, which has been said by anom. above me.

With card effects that do not target the protection effect of Blue eyes Solid Dragon becomes useless.

If you activate the shuffle effect your blue eyes will get destroyed instead of solid dragon

It already played it part. Negating the monster eff, and sending blue eyes into GY ( if your opponent destroy/remove it. The negation eff still applied even if Solid dragon return immediately. Just keep in mind that you cant special summon during damage step, which mean battling man eater bug wont trigger solid eff.

This card is weird, sometimes, when your opponent activates a normal/flip monster effect Solid Dragon doesn't ask you to activate his shuffle effect.
This problem doesn't occur when it is an effect that targets Solid Dragon however.

I get the feeling that the cards that are released were made to bypass the activation conditions of cards like this one.

You mean in order to make old cards like this one obsolete ?
I understand you man.

I really want to keep loving my old cards, but Konami keep making them more and more obsolete with each new box releases.

Maybe it is time to reprint + nerf cards that are too strong in the top 5 decks to balance the game. Instead of releasing new cards.

I tested Solid dragon against a krawler dendrite.
Solid doesn't ask you to shuffle when Dendrite activates its flip effect when it is attacked.

This would mean that solid dragon cannot activate its effect during the damage step.

However, when Solid dragon attacks flip monster like Man eater bug or Gravekeeper's guard I think you can shuffle him into the deck.

Can anyone confirm this ?

Solid dragon also doesn't shuffle when your opponent activates the trap card Destiny Signal.

I'm not sure this one counts as damage step, so maybe it's in fact a bug

One thing to note if that monster effects that activate when they are destroyed and sent to the graveyard are not negated.
They also do not trigger Solid dragon's effect to summon a blue eyes from the deck. This also applies to effect from the hand by the way.

This card saved me a few times however.

I really doubt this card represents any kind of treat to a Mask heor deck

Even with 3 copies of this fella in your deck, it requires more than just luck to be able to get him on the field on turn 1 and a Masked Hero deck usually ends you in the first turn.

WIth a bLue-Eyes themed deck you have a better chance of stoping Masked Heroes with cards like Ancient Rules and Birthright/Silver's Cry

I've decided to put this card in my Blue Eyes deck. Even if it can"t be summon as easily as Spirit et White Dragon (not a normal monster), you still have 3 Protectors with Eyes of Blue, 2 Spirits and the combo "Majesty with Eyes of Blue + Silver Cry" to summon it. That's 7 ways to summon it. And it's protection effect is better than Spirit (you can search BEWD in your deck).

Not Silver Cry because it's not a Normal monster, my bad.

This card would be good if you could actually like, summon it
