How do I get past stage 4 on 5D's if I dont have Stardust Dragon?

Well mermail abyss pike is broken and needs to be fixed. I only had 3 water monsters in my hand. All my lvl 3 monsters were in my deck. I normal summoned mermail abysspike hoping to discard my citadel whale and pull my swap frog to special summon it to the field to resurrect my citadel whale but the effect never worked
