You can only activate 1 "Pendulum Call" per turn. You cannot activate this card if you activated a "Magician" monster's Pendulum Effect this turn.

This card could be great in the opening hand. After that it could help rebound after a wiped out board or just add 2 more monsters to thin the deck, if I’m understanding it correctly

Busted. This card gives more value to the first Pendulum structure deck and also means turbo Ebon Illusion Magician.

I don’t get why cards like these are so loved. I’m afraid of putting things like this in a 20 card deck… it’s one card I’m using, I need to discard yet another card, and both of the magicians with different names have to be in my deck… graveyard or hand and it’s a dead card. I’ll still try to use it but I don’t feel confident.

You have to very careful with the ratios:

if you run only 2 pend mag the other copies of call will be dead, if you add more pend mag the chances of opening with 1 skyrockets, if that happens the number of pend mag in deck won't be even anymore and the 2nd copy of call will be dead again. so on and so forth.

Yeah… I don’t know if playing only 1 of each magician is good. Clearly some are better than others.
