Read the card description again:

During damage calculation, if a monster you control is being attacked: Target that monster you control; that target gains ATK equal to half the original ATK of the attacking monster, until the End Phase.

Yeah i'm having a similar issue. Twice in my last match i was attacked and given no option to activate the card, but when i turned on auto duel the AI used the card when i was attacked a 3rd time. Made no sense.

Folks, the card basically attempts to trigger at the VERY LAST SECOND when the opponent attacks, like trying to use Inspiration/Reinforcements to buff your monster. It WILL ask you to trigger if you aren't say spamming your Back button. I've never had a problem w/ this card once I learn when it will attempt to trigger.

Security Orb is good if you run Diskblade Rider.

I see this card as a good alternative than Mirror Wall... Mirror Wall is predictable (just like SRH or Econ) because at each phase or action, you have to say "no" to its activation. With this card, the latency happens only when your opponent attacks.

Half Counter - doesn't work when attacking monster has 2x or more the attack of the defending monster.

poor's mirror wall... not increase def.. but in dmg calc we cant change the BPosition easly
