During damage calculation, if your other DARK Spellcaster monster battles an opponent's monster (Quick Effect): You can send this card from your hand or face-up from your field to the GY; that monster you control gains 2000 ATK/DEF during that damage calculation only.

I agree that Dark Magician got powercrept pretty hard. I also can't understand why Blue-eyes gets all their staples, and Dark Magician, the poster boy, gets arguably less than have of its own staples. We can't get Apprentice Illusion Magician, Eternal Soul, Magicians' Soul, and many other cards that Dark Magician needs. Interesting how the game has super immune cards currently like Lunalight Sabre Dancer and Bloom Diva the Melodious Choir, but heaven forbid Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon. Even with both Blues-Eyes decks and Dark Magician decks, I think both Kaiba and Yugi (both Yugis) respectively could use a skill that helps suppress bricky opening hands. Not necessarily immediate OTK, but at least a more practical skill that's not so sub-optimal for these situations. It would also make sense for the respective characters. A skill similar to "The Dragon Knight's Path" comes to mind for these situations.

Dark magician has three new cards and the rest are outdated. Just isn’t enough support right now. And I hate the ritual and fusion summon counterpart you lose way to many cards in your hand and there is any support to recover if you can’t clinch it in that turn. Preposterous.

Well you can still have fun with Gemini Elf, Dark Elf, Rogue Doll, The Illusory Gentleman, A Man with Wdjat, Blue Dragon Summoner, etc. There are more unlimited spellcasters than limited ones.

Mana's artwork is nice, but looks too much like Tea instead of Mana.

Meanwhile, this card actually looks like Mana, but has generic name. So IMO, Konami should have switched the two cards' artwork.

Ofc, since it is a deck that has an answer for everything: free canadias/spell-trap negation monsters/utilizes 100% invoker/runs tons of meta traps etc etc. Even their palace field is never a dead draw or brick (unlike the 99% of field cards) since its a basicaly a monster searcher. But yeah, kids still consider dm as a proplem in our meta...

I think most complain about DM is because they have a turn 1 play that's almost not possible to beat unless you draw the answers on you starting hand. That set navigation with circle on feild and a DM in the hand.
