what i would do it take out doomslayers and add one veil of darkness and another skull lair. you may consider having three skull lairs.

Is three Riryoku worth the jewels? Already have two. And how effective would two Bazoo be? How many people times is a duel actually going to go deep enough for you he graveyard and the have monsters for You he second one, only benefit I could see would be the chance of drawing it doubling.

I went for a 3rd Riryoku and to be honest it is not worth it 2 is good enough save your UR jewls and gold.

It'll depend on your deck type. If you can spam monster summon, 3x riryoku is hax. 2x riryoku is ok for the average deck.

(This might inspire me to make a Riryoku deck in the future)

if you reaaaaally love a 2nd or 3rd Bazoo, go use Insect Magical Merchant!!

Could somebody give me some basic basic to fundamental advice on what would be the best composition of a basic deck for Kaiba and Joey's decks? Thank you all so very much for your time and have fun Dueling!!!

1. The amount of the cards in your deck. Keep it around 20 cards. The less you have, the higher probabilities you will draw the card you need. 10-12 for monsters.
2. Build a deck that will synergize with your skill. For Kaiba, a dragon deck will do you good. Since the 'peak performance'. skill will boost up your dragons' ATK and DEF.

For joey, I think warrior deck is also a good option, since when you reach a certain level, you will get the 'reinforcement' skill.
3. Spell and traps are used to mess with your oppenent and take down their monsters, so choose them carefully. People run at least 1 enemy controller nowadays, so try to get it.

4. If you want to reach kog or go for higher ranks, you will have to face meta decks. But don't let that bother you, you don't have to copy others' decks, just build your own and have fun.

Replace DMG and dark magician to beast of talwar and cosmo queen, they have better stats, and this deck doesn't support dm at all. Remove 1 OtC, not enough normal fodder, replace it with econ or windstorm

Pretty good deck. I don't know what your skill is but since this is a fiend deck then I'll assume it's 'power of dark'. And if you ask me, I would take out 1 garlandolf, running two is just too much effort, plus you only have 1 sonic bird and 1 senju. Get rid of shadow slayer and replace it with something with higher ATK and good DEF. Remove riryoku and replace it with windstorm or econ.

Good deck :) I suggest taking out riryoku and black pendant, since almost everyone run at least one kuriboh/econ/windstorm in their deck. If you want to build a full BEWD deck, add another paladin,BEWD, kaiser sea horse, and take out other dragons. Try to get at least 1 econ and windstorm.

Some cards I think they might not be much helpful in this deck are burst stream, blast of the tribute, card trader, symbols of duty, that sr trap. Replace them with mirror wall, champion's vigilance (you need at least two if you wanna run BEWD deck), interdimensional matter transporter.

I just started playing yesterday and every deck seems to need cards from Ultimate Rising to be competitive, which you can't buy any more.

Am I doomed? Should I just give up on making a good deck?

traps : wind storm (from mai) mirror wall 2 golden apples or 1 golden apple and a trap jammer mainly for mirror wall since twister is gone now.
Note : i suggest you farm kaiba and try to at least get one enemy controller (2 is better).

For spellcasters : 3 skilled red magician - 3 or 2 mythical beast cerb - 2 legion the fiend jester - 2 black magician - 1 summoned skulls or dark magician girl - Neo the magic sword man (tho i am not sure if new players gets it or not but if not rogue doll should do the job) // spell cards mostly equips and traps mostly magician cirle 2 at least.

I forgot that Fiend could be better if you want to go for high attack but you cannot really make a full fiend deck with you missing on bakura first part of the event.

For the most part the cards required might seem expensive but you can get more than enough gems to get them.
