Based on the given quote we can assume that the new unlockable duelist will be Yubel whose personality mainly revolves around her love for Jaden as its owner. Another evidence is the leaked Mat and Sleeve of Yubel - The Ultimate Nightmare.

A New Development in Yugioh Duel links. This could likely be the addition of 5D's, the third series of YuGiOh into Duel Links like how GX was added late last year. With the addition of 5D's World comes the addition new characters, events, cards, and the Synchro summoning mechanic.

During anniversary Ojama Yellow hinted about new world and now Konami just added 5D's files in 2.8.0 update. It's very likely that 5D's will come this year.

What we need for a roaming event is a Super Aster event where he would drop clock tower prison, dreadmaster, destiny end dragoon, dystopia, adoration, d-counter, d-shield, and the tag duel version of his destiny survivor skill. (Ok, just kidding about the skill).

Most likely Syrus. Would be nice and fitting if it was Marik Ishtar since we've seen enough of his cameos back-to-back in these events, but Konami seems to have no real plan for him with the lack of card leaks.

So im going to go out on a wild limb here and predict that the new legendary duelist might be Lyman Banner or Amnael from YuGiOh GX. ONLY BECAUSE (if i remember correctly) Amnael made various references to the cosmos during his duel with Jaden and Banner believes that Duel Alchemy involves everything in the universe..

I'm willing to bet that 99% of the people here who said 5Ds sucks, never watch the series until the end, or just watch like, one episode or even just one scene.

5Ds anime not only have better structured duels, it also has better animation overall, and better songs in the Japanese version.

I don't think there will be another Syrus event after the next one (thank god). There will probably be one more tower (light) after this. But I agree with you about Zane. It has been almost a year since GX was released (I think). Just give him to us already.
