Recently I assembled the Shiranui deck and decided to try it, without a doubt a very good investment, the combos that can be made with the Burgeoning Whirlflame trap during any turn is great, Book of Life for special invocation in case you are denied something and like tech a Dragon's Mirror to maximize the attack with the Dragonecro.

Used the shiranui 30 card deck. It was pretty easy till dv.18 and then went back and forth till getting to dv. 20.

I only added the nine tail right near the end after being lava golemed a few times. Also had monster reborn but subbed in the pot of benevolence. Bad to get opening hand but great in the late game. As you can see I only have 1 each of the SR level 4. More important to have 3 Spiritmaster and 3 samurai and 3 level 2 tuner. Mirror matches were tricky (who got the best monsters in the GY quickest) but mostly saw 20 card Shiranui, dark magician, BEWD or burn/stall decks

Unlike other Shiranui players, I ran only 20 cards for 3 reasons

1. because it suits my style of playing
2. I hate 30-card decks
3. This deck is really good against anything it is also less expensive than a 30 card deck and it shuts down other decks easily.

I have encountered Blackwings, Shiranui, dark magicians, Dragunitys, Cyber Dragons, Heroes, Esabers, Dark magician girl, etc

Dark magician decks could be trouble but if you play second then it's almost a guaranteed win

I used Yosenju build shown here.

Xing was pivotal to help block cards like magician navigation or treacherous.

The main combo I used in this deck was Shadow game with the ability to keep Yosenju graveyard to a minimal it helped tame the 30 card grass shin decks.
And made opponents double guess their plays as they would constantly take damage each of the end of their turn
