It only negates monster effects. And only during the damage step. And it only works on specific monsters.

I believe battling include attack declaration up to end of the damage step.
Unless I missed something

Yeah, you're right. That makes it slightly better, but only slightly.

With this trap card you can indefinitely stall with a defense positioned BE Spirit Dragon against vanilla Lunalight and win by deck out. No more will you lose against that hateful OTK deck.
