If your Deck contains both "The Spiritual Lord" and "The Sky Lord," begin the Duel with "The Material Lord" Set in your Spell & Trap Zone.

Description (Until 2019 Jul 25)

If your Deck contains "The Spiritual Lord" and "The Sky Lord," you will start the Duel with "The Material Lord" Set on the side of your field. "The Spiritual Lord" and "The Sky Lord" will be placed at the bottom of your Deck.

Can confirm. I played some ranked games today and in most of them my opening hands got cluttered with both Spiritual and Sky lords. It was fun while it lasted, atleast it carried me to plat with my terrible cards.

Guys, as of today (12 July) the skill still works as per the old description. Go ahead and try if you don't believe me: I'm currently running a BEWD 14 cards deck in ranked! Not sure where the admins read about that alleged correction.

skill change and banlist are always announced some time before they are actually applied, to give players time to prepare.

I mentally ridicule the game sometimes regarding choices of cards they decide to put in, but it pleases me to see how smart they were here.

Seems like they'll never correct that blatant mistranslation: ロード clearly means road here, not lord (nor load). I can understand why "The Heaven's" became "The Sky", but they should be finally renamed "The Material Road", "The Spiritual Road" and "The Sky Road".

Nah, I see why they would change it: they've always censored words like "Hell" and the likes. Besides, "Sky" sounds better to my ears: The Heaven's Road remembers me of some strange Church's handouts.

There's also the fact that "Heaven" and "Sky" has the same word in Japan ("Ten"), so they simply reference that for the translation.

(I said "reference", because yes, I know his card's Japanese name uses "Heaven" instead of "Ten")

could this be a potential broken skill? Imagine having three copies each of "The spiritual lord" and "the sky lord", meaning that this 6 cards are placed at the bottom of your deck.
So if you are using a 20 card deck, you basically now the last six are these shi**y cards, but the remaining 14 are of your choice. The chance to start with a lit hand are increased since you are actually playing with 14 cards, and your start-hand already takes away 4 or 5 from the beginning!

I'm curious to find this out!

I don't wonder about the skill but if it might be useful/broken (like masked tribute). Im just a casual player but maybe some more experienced one could determine if a 14 card choice leads to a better starting hand...who knows, will try it for sure.

I don't understand why konami nerf this skill. Light ruler isn't too OP there are many ways to stop it and of course you have to play arcana force because the lord spell/trap can only activate if you have them in GY and they aren't too strong

Who said you have to activate them? The main point is super consistency due to having 14 of the cards you need on top of the deck while the remaining 6 pillars are at the bottom.

Yes, that means you lost 1 backrow zone for a useless card, but it's a small price to pay for the super consistency you get in return.

And that's why the skill gets nerfed. It give OP consistency boost to any deck.

It's a pity because that skill could make Arcana decks somewhat competitive (at least in lower tiers). I hope Konami will reconsider: the balance point could be making the skill work only if you have a single copy of both The Spiritual Lord and The Sky Lord (in order to prevent 13/14 cards deck).
