Based on the given quote we can assume that the new unlockable duelist will be Yubel whose personality mainly revolves around her love for Jaden as its owner. Another evidence is the leaked Mat and Sleeve of Yubel - The Ultimate Nightmare.

A New Development in Yugioh Duel links. This could likely be the addition of 5D's, the third series of YuGiOh into Duel Links like how GX was added late last year. With the addition of 5D's World comes the addition new characters, events, cards, and the Synchro summoning mechanic.

I doubt he'll ever be unlockable. My guess is they decided since they already have all the required assets they might as well use him for events that give out cards. He's essentially a blank slate, so they could give him basically anything without worrying about theming.

If that level up leak is correct then that’s all that’s left for any chance of new Harpie cards. Even then I’m not to thrilled relying on RNG to finally upgrade my harpie deck.

Rewards does't justify the repetitive event. 700 gems could be given in a different, non-repetitive, event. Maybe an event that doesn't force you to duel standard duelists.

Then what that you hoping for? They won't give 2k gems by tapping auto-duel button. 700 gems is decent enough since you doing nothing to get it

why do people complains so much about Duel-A-Thon event, it is free gems like 1000 or more in total and you fill up the meter ranking up in PvP and getting your cumulative wins for tickets

Every event force you to duel standard duelist.
Unlock event : duel standard duelist to collect items
Duelist chronicles: duel standard duelist to collect dice
Roaming event: duel standard duelist to make LD appear more often

God why do they keep bringing back amazing characters like Zane and Espa but still don't make them unlockable?!?!?! They keep trying to shove down unlockable characters that i've owned for months and are already level 40 for me. Smhh

So how did Konami 🔥 it up by catering only to new players by recycling old events with little new content (e.g jesse, crowler, roba, para bros. etc.) that are not worth farming because the cards suck (except for pulse mines) or they release archetypes that are so incomplete that you cannot build a playable deck (not meta deck) looking at you roids and cyber dragons I know everyone's telling me do it for the gems the gems and thank Konami for that honestly farming for gems and opening rng card packs doesn't cut it
