Ideal? Not really but it does work with Maiden.

By IDEAL I supposed it means protecting your Maiden from effects that would get rid of her permanently by banishment (subterror) or without targeting (Fortune lady every).

Fortune lady Every+Lightsworn is a hard counter to maiden unless you have something like monster recovery perhaps.

Additionally monster recovery can avoid bricks when you play Blue-Eyes.

The only thing this does 'better' is allows you to recycle a monster which can be situational like if it's equipped with Mask of the Accursed or targeted with other quick plays like Super Rush Headlong or Econ it can save your monster. Mallet is just easier to use.

tl;dr if you want to reshuffle, Mallet. If you want to avoid opponent control and reshuffle your hand, Monster Recovery.
