I'm a new player and started just a week before the Bakura event. Can someone explain the lore of this game? The dialog between Kiaba and Bakura made it seem like I missed some stuff!

If you're talking about "Game Master" that Bakura said, read the manga, before Duelist Kingdom arc.

Is it good to splash a random ritual monster like Garlandorf into any non-ritual deck, or it will ultimately be a deadweight to the deck?

You need a ritual focused deck if you want to do that ,it just gonna deadweight your deck unless your deck work well with it

Most of the great turnaround cards are either not here or forbidden :/ . Mirror force , thunder force , black hole , change of heart , early burial , raise dead , metamorph pot , cyber pod etc none of these are in the game :0

They're forbidden even in the TCG. What makes you think that those cards won't break the game especially in this speed duel format? Those cards are better unreleased. They will definitely become forbidden if released and buying packs then will become like walking on land filled with landmines. Who the hell wants to draw UR cards that couldn't be used in a duel?
