I have... err, I have no strong opinion about Americans, I've met many who are very friendly people to hang out with, charismatic and approachable.
However, I've seen also some weird folks that seem to have a weird need for 'acceptance' so, in order to 'look cool' they are rude with everyone.
You summon Recon and the game itself starts asking questions. I know it's hard for many players to answer these follow up question, but just hit that "YES" button. If all works well, in two to three turns, game announces your victory.

I'm starting to notice how well Venus synergies with gem knights. It's amazing. I'm currently working on a deck recipe that's looking nice. It uses order to charge and creature seizure, as well as the fusions. I've never noticed the gem knight fusion fairy card until now. That alone opens up many possibilities...
Unlike other gladiator beasts, Secutor doesn't shuffle into the deck, so if you want to activate his effect, he needs to be the only monster you have on the field to leave room for the two you're trying to special summon.
In you case, Econ's monster taking effect resolves after Geargiaccelerator is sent to the Graveyard, meaning Geargiaccelerator being sent to the Graveyard is not the last thing to happen, therefore it misses the timing, as Geargiaccelerator's effect is supposed to activate, but it can't as you must resolve Econ's effect.

This card effect is not limited to continuous S/T. Any face up S/T such as equip, field spell also affected.
Example;
Cant use Mausoleum to pay LP to summon high lvl monster.
Cant use Noble arms caliburn, or arfeudutyr to heal or destroy set card.
Cant ss amazoness from hand using onslaught.
Cant use Gravity blaster to boost 400 ATK

No Sylvans in the top 3 doesn't necessarily indicate they didn't do well. For all we know, spots 4-16 were all Sylvans. Also, realistically, Sylvans are by FAR the most dominant (and common) meta deck at the moment. A lot of people probably teched heavily against them.
