actual, non-trolling answer: BSG only negates the activation of a Spell card that targets it.
DMC's banishing effect is activated long after DMC itself is activated. In other words, it's only the activation of a Spell card's EFFECT.
Basically, BSG only works against cards that immediately targets BSG after activation. Continuous cards that activates their effect later, ignore BSG's effect.
I agree; past KC Cups, first joyed animes deck then used "The Weather" and the opponents generally surrender. But now it's not work.

This would actually be a strong card if it wasn't a Gemini, it's a non-targeting banishing that activates at the start of Damage Step, so you don't even take any damage when you attack a stronger monster with this card.
Very sure that's the joke. That despite the vanillas being "iconic" and "historic" like that one anon on the first few replies above says, they already gets retrained by Konami anyway.
