I tested it out in my new deck, using Fur Hire / Knightmare links.
Apparently, there's a misunderstanding. The part that says...You cannot activate other Spell/Trap Cards or effects during the turn you activate this card.
Only refers to spell/trap cards. It means that continous face up spell/trap cards can't use their effects.
Monster effects can still be activated. In a fur Hire deck, you can use it to draw 3 cards.

I will say Reinforcement of the Army because it can help you to search out a Six Samurai monster quickly. For Revival Tech, you can use Return of the Six Samurai instead of Monster Reborn.
Apparently, it can go well in Blue Eyes decks. Use Number 46 Dragluon to special summon it from your hand.
Since Blue Eyes deck can run cards like White Dragon to pop back row, you can then follow it up and XYZ into Dragluon, special summon it, and pop 2 more cards.
My mistake. It is a nice @@@ in Desperado because there it’s not Star, it’s Calamity (THAT one has an amazing body I adore). I meant to talk about Dancing Needle).

Dotscaper can count as 2 Monsters, as It summons itself from Graveyard, and It can be used for a link1 summon, but if you use Linkslayer effect to send Dotscaper ti the Graveyard, you can still normal summon and make even a link3 summon with the right cards...
Yeah for that reason I gave up on ever hoping to do more than the usual 3 daily duels, I'm not buying long powercrept boxes just to participate.
If it were a permanent format with its own monthly rewards maybe I'd consider it but otherwise no
