Red-eyes fusion will never be as good as neos fusion, except for the fusion monsters. Neos fusion allows you to summon or special before activating it, even allows normal summons after activation. Red-eyes fusion locks from any summon, before or after. Neos fusion also provide protection, destruction immunity
Most counter trap only negate the activation of a card, not the effect.
You could, however use something like MST / CC because continuous trap such as this one need to be exist on the field to
resolve the effect.
