i think monarchs will be meta, just throw in e-con and itll be tier 1 lol. honestly though, they’re not immune to anything and there effects are only powerful just by being summoned so at the end of the day they’re essentialy beatsticks to be honest
Keep in mind it's only the ones that can only be Special Summoned by certain methods that need to have been correctly Summoned first. You can discard a Silent Magician LV4 or Dark Lucius LV8 and Level Modulation it back. But you can only use it on a monster like Silent Magician LV8 or Armed Dragon LV10 if it was properly Summoned first.

For me in duel link's he works best with b-buster drake,biofalcon,and jade night maybe
1.buster drake you can use him a tribute for m,s which would activate b- drake and simple search another b-drake to attach to M,S to give him a extra life and make him immune to spells.
Biofalcon-is pretty much a search for your M,S Simmon let your jade knight get destroyed search any monster with jade knight then that activate biofalcon and let get a M,S to hand in the same turn and just use your gravity blasters and pump up your M,S and then use your spell to whip your back and whip their backrow that I can come up with so far hope it helps!
There's no reason to add Links until there's Synchros and Xyz to actually have a purpose for the bottleneck mechanic of Links. Fusion monsters are rarely ever used in a regular enough consistency or high enough quantity to bother having a bottleneck just for them.
The deck with BEWD in it to get 10k damage is pretty inconsistent. I've yet to beat Pegasus one time that isn't a deck out and any time he doesn't deck out I just take an L.
