We need to know more about the duel, like what other cards are on the field, and were you dueling Vagabond or not.
Also, you did try to click on the Extra Deck, right?
Also, generally, if a card does not say "target", then it does not target, period.
Even if the card only affect 1 monster, like in Spellbook of Fate's case.
If you want to try a Roid deck, you should at least be able to get to mid-high plat :) It's not top-tier but it's still pretty decent!
3x Drillroid and 3x Submarine are your central cards. Traps that ends up with defense-position enemy monsters are incredibly good with them, like Etaqua and that Semi-Limited machines-only trap. Then combine with a couple Vision HERO Witches :)
Use this card when activating monster effects that need a "Noble Arms" as a tribute to be able to use the LP gain twice (once before activating the monster effect and then again after re-equipping).
One thing you can do with this is special summon it with rose lover, then you use world tree and then when this monster and it's tokens are destroyed you have three counters on it and you can regenrate it next turn making it hard for your opponent to keep up. By that time you might have a powerful card like rose tentacles and ivy shackles to help destroy your opponent monsters
