Can someone please explain

Why did I just lose to a shadow spell on my TG blade blaster. I tried to negate.

Blade blaster negates the effect, not the activation. This means that shadow remains on the field, and is only negated precisely when the chain link where it was activated resolves. Right after that chain, it immediately begins applying again. BB's negate does nothing against it or fiendish, etc.
