Can someone explain why if an Amazoness monster is destroyed why willpower won’t go away?
The only time it goes away if the amazon monster is destroyed by battle is that a bug or do I not know the rules?

The card says: "When that monster is DESTROYED, destroy this card", so if the monster left the field, expect by being destroyed, it doesn't get destroyed and stays there. It happens with Powerful Rebirth, Brainwashing Beam and many other continuous traps like these, so it is not a bug.

Read and understand the ruling "if it is destroyed by battle, remove this card from field".
Since it doesnt includes "tributed" that means if you tribute the monster for tribute summon it will obviously not be removed from field.

It was destroyed or removed from the field? Or tribute? It matters.
