why didn't my stardust effect activated when going against Shi En
Question
why didn't my stardust effect activated when going against Shi En
so i had my stardust dragon on the field as well as a treacherous trap hole, my opponent had a Shi En on the field. During my opponent main phase, he summoned Enishi on the field, at that point i activated my trap card to take down both oh his monsters, in which trigger the activation of Shi en to negate my trap card and destroy it, yet my stardust dragon effect didn't activated when my trap was destroy by the monster effect. I'm confused.

IRL Stardust Dragon can negate Shi en but this also happened to me in Duel Links just now thought it was a bug or something and if isn't a bug, maybe the rulings in duel links is different than IRL

A Spell/Trap Card whose activation was negated isn't considered to be on the field (regardless of where it was activated from), and Stardust Dragon can only be used against effects that will destroy a card on the field.

Shi En destroys the spell/trap card he negated WHEN his effect resolves.
Your Stardust can't do anything when a card resolves. It's effect can only be activated before the resolving of other cards.
The same rule is applied in many other cases.

It could be because of the timing. Shien's effect does say "Negate and if you do destroy it". Maybe because the card is already kinda dead from the negated effect it doesn't matter if destroyed.
