Otc against Freed??

Today in a ranked match someone used order to charge on my Freed the matchles General. Freed didn't negate it and was destroyed?

I don't understand how this is possible ?
I think he negates all spell effects that target him?

Order to Charge doesn't target your opponent's monsters. It only targets the monster to be tributed. Once that resolves, it allows you to destroy one of the opponents monster. It sounds weird but that's how it works.
