Farming with high score for Lv 30 LD or with average score for Lv 40 LD?

So as of right now, I only have cards which allow me to effectively farm Lv 30 LD's easily with around ~7000 assessment, while for Lv 40 LD's, I can only get around ~2000-3000 assessment (in this context, dueling Marik in the Marik event).

I know that drop rates are better for Lv 40 LD's, and you can save keys until you have the deck to effectively farm LV 40s, but like for the Marik event, the map fragments will expire after the event, so they can't be saved like keys.

Aside form RNG and the time it takes to get the necessary farming cards, just for reference in future events, which would be better for farming rare cards? Lv 30 with high score, or Lv 40 with a pretty average score?

Consistency is IMPORTANT. Based on your situation that you could farm 30 Marik with 7k score easily, personally I would go for lv30 unless you could farm lv40 with 4k+ score CONSISTENTLY

It's all about RNG and it might differ for others. Besides, there are always alternative ways to farm LDs if you dont have the exact cards needed, especially for the regular LDs at the gates

It really depends on the event , sometimes the lvl 40 is easier to farm then the lvl 30.

For red gate events lvl 30 to get a lot of points is always an option. Difference in points accumulated is small.

For cards its a hard call ,think the lvl 30 turns out better , but it's problley possible to up your level 40 score a bit just by adding fusions , rituals or other score boosters.

And yes keeping holding on to those gate keys. When your account gets going and you farm them with 8000 scores easy , they gonna give you a lot of SR stones , and even decent gems and UR stones. So don't waste them now.
