Auto-Duel is playing with Double-Dragon Fusion deck and while my opponent is at 4000, I'm at 1200. Opponent has a Vorse Raider, a face-up attack position Man-Eater Bug and a set monster, no face-down cards.
It's my turn and I have 6 cards in hand, but no Polymerization, so Auto-Duel plays a The Earth - Hex-Sealed Fusion in attack position and attacks the Set monster, which turns out to be another Bug and I die next turn.
What is the thought process of the AI here? It doesn't seem to make sense because it leaves me dead on board 100% of the time, while setting the Hex would do the exact opposite and could give me another turn.
Any explanation?

The ai in the game can’t use duel links skills, and never stops to consider effects or spell removal before summoning the monster with the highest ATK. I usually make a habit of either only giving the Ai very low ranked CPU duels like level 10, maybe Level 20, and anything higher than that I usually start the duel, like do the main combo, then hand it over to the AI to finish it

The AI is famously horrible at the proper use of effect cards. It will frequently play cards like Kaibaman without using the effect, and attack with it despite their being a blue eyes in the hand. AI tactics seems to be attuned to brute force only with little proper use of effects, spells and traps. Usually the AI will waste a De-spell on a face down known trap card, instead of removing a face up spell like wonder balloons.

Fusion is inherent card disadvantage. While fusion/ritual based auto decks work on lower level SDs, in later stages the stage decks get a decent amount of removal. It's best to build a 4 star beater deck with your best backrow cards, those win a lot more.
