Dark paladin vs Sky Sanctuary bug?

I had Dark Paladin, my opp had divine punishment set, then he activated Sanctuary Sky, I negate with Paladin, but he was able to activate Divine punishment, I think that is a bug because when I activate Paladin Santuary still is not yet activate and resolved in the field

really a good question... The trap negates the activation, and paladin too, so if he negates the field spell activation, should the trap stay unable to activate, but you telling us that the trap can chain paladin's effect even if the field isn't already chain solved...so it's a bug or not? hey KOmoney

It's not a bug, she plays Sky Sanctuary (it's now on the field), you activate Dark Paladin's effect and discard, she uses divine punishment because the Sky Sanctuary is ON the field, despite still it's not decided if it will be negated/destroyed or not
