Dark Desertapir's effect uses "WHEN", not "If"

Meaning Dark Desertapir being banished must be THE VERY LAST THING TO HAPPEN, otherwise its effect will miss the timing

That is the difference between "When" and "If"

When = must be the last thing to happen, if not then it misses the timing

If = can happen regardless of whether it's the last thing to happen or not

I understand that very well.

I'm just wondering, other than having opponent banish desertapir through monsters like mystical beast of serket, I dont think there are other ways to activate desertapir's effect.

There are lots of ways, the real issue is that a lot of those cards are not in Duel Links yet.

There's a few cards like Soul Release, Interdimensional Matter Transporter (that isn't chained to anything), Dimensionhole, Dimension Gate, and Different Dimension Gate that can. Shame we don't have Gold Sarcophagus yet.
