Chain Destruction is a trap card. Text : When a monster(s) with 2000 or less ATK is Summoned: Target 1 of them; destroy all cards with that name in its controller's hand and Main Deck.
It seems really powerful. You can kill one normal summon (Jerry Beans Man, Blue Dragon Summoner, Who-Headed King Rex, Gravekeeper monster and probably each 4 level monster) AND kill every copy of this card in graveyard.
Maybe I misunderstood something, but i am pretty sure this card is good and i dont saw it in deck. So why ?

It is indeed situational. Some decks it hardly has any effect on, but theme decks like the nordic deck can be highly affected. Since the nordic monsters share "nordic " in their name, target the nordic monster on the field and the rest are gone as well, leaving almost no monsters(if you have any non nordic monsters in your deck). What's worse is that they are banished instead of being sent to the graveyard, therefore no way to bring them back. Cards in the graveyard are unaffected at least.

is very situational beacause doesnt destroy the monster in the field but i see a amaizing combo where you used to selfdestruct a warm worm y destroy 9 enemy cards. But even in that situation you need to have set up first chain so is a slow combo.

Main issue is that there's only one copy in the game & if you don't play it early it becomes useless.

It's a great card. It just doesn't kill the card on the field. I can be used as a potential mill card, eliminate copies of threatening 4-star beatsticks, or kill extra Relinquished once the first one is summoned.
The reason it is not used is because it is situational and works best in combos. The general mode of play is using UR cards that are OP by themselves (Mirror Wall, EC, and the like).

useless card. Worked very different from the anime. I encountered many scenarios as follows:
- The opponent summons a 1800 atk monster 1st turn.
- I place down the chain destruction card on 2nd turn
- 3rd turn, he summons the same 1800 atk monster.
- I activate the trap card.
- Nothing occurs to the 2 cards on field.
- Basically the guy have two 1800 atk monster on field unharmed.

There are strategies you could play with this card, but for it to be good, you would need to be able to count on it, but there is only one available, so it's not that useful. However, you could use it to power up a naturia deck.
