If I use a quick play magic card and then my opponent plays a quick play magic card why is it that my opponents effect goes before mine?

Think about it for a minute... Why would cards like Magic Jammer exist if that ISN'T how chains worked? They'd do nothing if they didn't resolve first. >.>

The last effect that triggers in A CHAIN, will be the first to activate.
