So I have noticed that the spell card 'Fulfillment of the Contract' - used to special summon 1 ritual monster from your graveyard - cannot always activate, which may point to a bug in the game.
The situation in which the card could not be activate was the following:
I had 4000 LP, there were 2 Blue-Eyes White Dragons on my side of the field, the spell card Fulfillment of the Contract was set in the Spell/Trap card zone, and I had discarded Paladin of White Dragon (PoWD) to the graveyard the turn before because of an excess of cards in my hand.
During the main phase of my next turn I tried to activate Fulfillment of the Contract to special summon PoWD in order to use its effect to special summon a third Blue-Eyes White Dragon from my hand. However, the card could not be activated.
Could this be a bug in the game? Or am I missing something important?

I was looking at the tutorials in the game, and it says to special summon a fusion or ritual monster, it has to be polymerized or appropriately ritually summoned before it can be special summoned in any other manner. So its not a condition of the card per say, it's a condition of the game/rules.

It's a problem with the game, as Fulfillment of the Contract should work on any ritual monster in the GY summoned or not, I say this because Konami themselves overturned a ruling saying you couldn't do it.

The card ‘Fulfilment of the contract’ does not apply to ritual monster cards that were discarded from the hand e.g. by a card effect or by simply having too many cards in the hand. The card only applies to ritual monsters that have been correctly ritual summoned by using the necessary ritual spell card and monsters, and then was destroyed by battle or sent to the graveyard from the field.
Hope this helped

Thank you for finally mentioning this. It's so weird, because it makes the card almost useless in a ritual monster stacked deck (you wouldn't be able to ritual summon one monster with another ritual monster and still use this card). I don't know who said that fusion and ritual monster must be summoned first to the field to count, because that isn't true. The ruling from upper deck entertainment issued that rule, but Konami have deemed them unofficial. Futhermore, how do you explain that I can send The Masked Beast from hand to graveyard and later use Call of the Archfiend to summon it back to the field. Unfortunately (and therefore I need a working Fulfillment of the Contract) not all good ritual cards are fiends.

This is one of many reasons why I can't take duel links seriosly. We can fusion summon a hero by just tributing one monster with masked change 3 times in a row assuming you have all 3 quick plays in your hand, but you can't ss a ritual from the graveyard because you didn't summon it through "normal" means first....Yeah well masked changed isnt a "normal" means of summoning a fusion monster either so.....

Regarding the monster must be properly summoned thank you I was wondering why it wouldn't work and it was because I special summoned my ritual monster with the Ritual Forgone spellcard

I mean, why doesn't it say that it needs to have been ritual summoned first and then sent from the field to the graveyard? Makes no sense.

But why doesn't it say that anywhere in the game or the cards?

The wording on the card says nothing about requiring the target ritual monster to be properly summoned first. Just in the graveyard.
"Pay 800 Life Points. Select 1 Ritual Monster from your Graveyard, Special Summon it, and equip it with this card. When this card is destroyed, remove the equipped monster from play."
