Negate lava golem?

Can you use a card to negate lava golem from being summoned?

I mean the same way you can use a card to negate a spell, trap or monster effect.

Or is not having more than 1 monster on the field the only way to try to prevent it from being summoned?

I am aware about econ tributing lava golem and simalar methods.
However with my question I specifically mean stopping lava golem its summoning (?meaning not losing your 2 monsters).

You can put Lava Golem as xyz material for xyz monsters. I think because it didn’t say that you cannot special summon your monsters to field. Can it?

You can prevent this is one of your only two monsters is a "Quintet Magician".

Quintet can't be tributed, so lava golem will need to select another monster for its tribute.

You could use forbidden chalice to boost its attack 400 points and negate its effect so you have a powerful monster given to you by your opponent.

you will need to use card effects that prevents special summoning monsters as lava golem's effect is a "special summon".

In other words, opponent can't special summon, no lava golem.

You can negate the effect with the new q-spell from the DMOC box

The Special Summon effect from Lava Golem isn't an activated effect, it doesn't start a chain, so it can't be negated by cards that negate monster's activated effects. Tributing 2 monsters for its Special Summon is a cost, costs cannot be negated nor undone once it was already paid, you still can negate the summon of Lava Golem with cards that negate summons like Champion's Vigilance, but the monsters tributed for its special summon won't be back.

Sadly enough, theres no way to save tributed monsters, but you can still tribute Lava Golem with Enemy Controller and take enemys monster right after it(Lava) being summoned.
