I stop playing for a couple days do some ranked duels and the lifepoints are 1000 more when did this happen, and why?

It was announced near the end of last month, so there was prior notice, even if you missed it. They are testing this for a Ranked season or two, so it may not be permanent. Probably to cut down on the number of OTKs decks.
