KOG Necessary?

Just a simple question. Is trying to get to KOG even necessary? I did it once but I felt that the grinding and endless identical meta decks made it seem more like work than fun. Now what I do is intentionally stay in Gold Rank. It's fun because duelists in Gold actually play 'fun' types of decks rather than just copy and pasting metas so I end up having a fun duel while getting the wins and rewards and testing out my own fun decks. Is there anything worthwhile in grinding to KOG that I'm missing other than the rewards?

Just 200 gems, then PRIDE written on your stats because you have that KOG logo. That's it. I always stay in Legend, have no passion reaching KOG after reaching it too

Having fun and being creative with your Decks should be able enough to get you to King of Games if you're really competitive about the game. Sylvans may ruin the fun, but it doesn't matter, as long as you had a great duel. I'm not focusing on getting to KoG for the reason I like being realistic in the real world but also enjoy playing this game for I have been playing since release dates setting back in ancient times lol. But, you don't need it, all you need is to have a great game, while enjoying the duel. "Get your game on" as a wise soul once said.

Gold players don't play "fun decks" You think it because they are noobs and can't build a decent meta deck to climb

You get 200 gems and can show off like an asshole dick to greys on chat for getting KoG. Yep, that's pretty much it.
