Super Rush Headlong don't work. Did i missing anything?

my first turn, i place face up The l Fisherman II ( L ocean on the field) and set super rush.
my opp turn, he summon Alien Warrior and use super rush, then i use my super rush too, but my monster was destroy by his card first, ( i did set Earth )
I think both monster should be destroy in that case. Did i missing anything?

You chained, but he has priority cause it was his turn, even if he would chained his SRH to yours, he wins

He got to chain first, probably should have waited or chained before him. Possibly run E-con w/ SRH or instead of Enemy Controller use Sphere Kuriboh, depending on the deck you're running. Instead of having your monster then destroyed, you could've had his monster in defense, possibly defenseless. It honestly depends on the deck you have built for yourself.

it was a chain on the battle phase? if not, turn player has priority. Otherwise if was a chain and your card was the 2º chain, you take the lead.

I think it is because it was his turn his super rush headlong has prominence over yours. Basically his went off before yours and because your monster died there was no monster for the super rush headlong to work with. I think that is why that happened.

As someone posted before the turn player takes priority, in a SSA deck i think Super rush is a dead card, you should use floodgate or e-con better to counter enemies super rush
