I got KOG multiple times without spending a single penny to purchase cards from the boxes. This season I used Cyber Angel, and I managed to get KOG with only one Sonic Bird and one Senju

anybody can get kog with cyber angel, all of the other optimal decks are p2w

I haven't spend a single dollar on this game so far .and I have reached KOG on the past two seasons. You just have to spend your gems on the right pack. And improvise with what you have. The meta continuously changes, and you need to adapt to the changes with what cards that you have. In the current meta, sergeant electrode and storm are really handy, I use them in most of my deck.

With money and ability to copy paste meta deck, even a monkey could reach KOG. That's a fact about this game.

KOG isn't that hard to get to anyway. Just requires a ton of grinding. Even if you win every game it takes forever.
